- Today I picked up Kerri from school and informed her that tomorrow was Saturday, and since it was the weekend there was no school for two days. My daughter was upset and said she liked school and wanted to go to school tomorrow. Oh please let me remember this conversation in future years!
- Kerri also prefers books on bones, anatomy and science over fairy tales and princess stories. And in the mall, she heads straight for the bookstore, not the toy store, or the clothing store. But yesterday she wore two tiaras and all her jewelry at the same time.
- Kerri also is very disappointed with me for hurting my back. This inconvenience in her life is taking away her ability to go outside and play, since I cannot sit/stand for too long to watch her. I am the "worsest mother in the world". Sigh.
- Speaking of my back, I had the nerve test done yesterday. It appears I have a pinched nerve and nerve damage at the root which is why my left hip/leg muscles are numb and not responding too well.
- Today Kerri packed to go to Florida. I am not sure she is going yet. But she is ready. She packed her Harry Potter robe and magic wand, three stuffed animals and her lunchbox full of snacks.
- Kerri is also very helpful in the kitchen. She is our official "taste tester", a title she gave herself. No dish can be prepared without her sampling the contents and telling me how many more minutes I need to cook the dish. So far, (according to Kerri), soup is done in ten minutes, and steaks take ten hours to cook. Good thing I started the sabbath dinner early.
- Yesterday we went to Costco, and among the groceries, I picked up a few holiday gifts for her teachers. Today she pointed to them on the table and chastised me for forgetting to put them in her backpack so she could give them out. I reminded her that the holiday is still far away. She still has no concept of time. Neither does Pookie. And neither do I!
- We received the proofs for her school pictures. I can't get over how grown up she looks. Of course, we forgot it was picture day and Daddy dressed her, ugh. And her hair was a mess. But I decided to keep them and not have them redone.
- Oh, my microwave has decided to retire early and become a glorified clock/timer.
Life with Kerri is why I look forward to every day.
